Bio Page for Suzanne Walz

Opening in March of 2008, Hazelle M. Designs L.L.C. is new to the Art 634 scene. Hazelle M is a unique retail store featuring visual art, jewelry & whimsical gifts of all sorts. With a style ranging from primitive folk, to cottage contemporary, you will experience an energetic atmosphere bound to inspire you from within.

Hazelle M. is owned and operated by Suzanne M. Walz, and is named after her maternal grandmother. Suzanne graduated from Woodbury University in Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business Administration. She worked in the fashion industry as a trend forecaster for Directives West Buying Office in Los Angeles, and a sales rep for Lerner-Nunes Sales.  She then moved to Michigan in 1991 and joined Jacobson’s Dept. stores and held a position as a buyer before they closed. Still raising two girls, she has now come back to what she loves – Art & Retail incorporating the two as Hazelle M.

Stop by to shop, wander, chat and enjoy the ART of Hazelle M.

Nao
Tableware made predominately by woman crafters from the village of White River, South Africa. The designs are inspired by patterns used by the Ndlebele women in their tribal dress. The utensils are made of a high grade stainless steel. The handles are created from copper and brass. By purchasing an item of tableware you are directly helping these talented craftspeople who are struggling to overcome the obstacles of poverty, disease and lack of education.

Zulu Beads
Blossoming out of a severe drought in Africa in 2001 the Maasai Tribe creates beautiful necklaces using a drought resistant grass and dying them with the natural elements to create strands of Zulu Beads. Sales of the beads help to support the 100 families of the Maasai Tribe.

Collections and Art are constantly changing, so please stop by or e-mail me with any questions.
