Sunday, April 14th – May 12th: Mike’s Wild Side – An Art Show Honoring Michael Palmer

Join us for a celebration of the late artist Michael Palmer, whose lifelong passion for capturing the beauty of nature through various mediums left an indelible mark on the art world. Get to know “Mike's Wild Side” through his diverse portfolio, on display at Art 634 in partnership with his family.

The show will open on Sunday, April 14th from 4 pm to 7 pm with the naming of the Michael A. Palmer Gallery, along with live music by Kevin Krieger and refreshments. Admission is free, and all are welcome to explore “Mike's Wild Side”. Let us honor his legacy and find solace in the beauty of art and nature he so cherished.

There will also be a Celebration of Life held for Mike at Art 634 on April 6th beginning at 1pm and extending in to the night.

We will continue to hold space for his memory and display his art through May 12, 2024.

Thursday, May 2 – 1st Thursday Game Night

Experience an exhilarating evening filled with board games at ART 634! Every month, Ryan curates a diverse selection of captivating board and card games to ensure your entertainment. From timeless classics to hidden treasures, there's always something new to explore!

In addition to our games, you're more than welcome to bring your own game along too. Just make sure it can be played within 90 minutes and that you're comfortable teaching it.

Come roll the dice and enjoy yourself every first Thursday of the month from 7 to 10 pm.

Thursday, May 16 - Open Mic Night

Share what you’ve been working on at Art 634!

Stand Up, Music, Poetry, Storytelling, Theater, or whatever the creative spirit brings.

Open Mic is in The Gallery on the third Thursday of each month. Sign-ups will begin at 7:00p, and the mic will open at 7:30p and go until the time feels right.

Coffee, tea, cocoa, and water is available, but feel free to bring your own food and drink of choice. Also remember to bring a friend or two!

Open mic is hosted by a variety of local artists. Check our social media pages for monthly updates.

Saturday, May 18th - Painting for a Purpose Fundraiser

Spend an afternoon embracing your creative side! Team CertainTeed invites you to join us for a fun(draising) paint party generously hosted by Art634 and instructed by The Whitney CAS. The cost is $40 per participant and 100% of the registration fees will be donated directly to Relay for Life of Jackson, MI in support of Team CertainTeed.

Mallory of The Whitney CAS will be guiding us in creating an adorable campfire and s'mores painting. All supplies will be provided, and light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited, and pre-registration is required.

Register on the donation page. Donate a minimum of $40 per participant directly to the Team CertainTeed Relay for Life fundraising page. Be sure to leave on the option to display your name so we know who you are. After donating, it is required to email Andrea.L.Zink@saint-gobain.com to confirm your registration and provide the participant(s) names.

This event is open to the public and all ages!

Saturday, May 18th - Industrial Dreamers: A Steampunk Art Show

Join us for a spectacular showcase of Steampunk art, brought to you by Art 634, Experience Jackson, and FollyFolk Artworks in partnership with Steampunk on the Bricks!

This show highlights art with themes of steampunk, industrial dreaming, neo-Victorian, retro-futurism and vintage visionary. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Steampunk, where imagination, innovation, and individuality come together to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Meet the artists behind the creations at the show's opening on Saturday, May 18th from 6p to 9p. Admission is free to the public and is accompanied by live music and light snacks. Industrial Dreamers will be on display through Sunday, June 16th.

Art 634 is proud to present, 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 – A steampunk themed festival of the arts. This unique event experience includes live music, art show, vendors, performers, panels, cash bar, food trucks, and more!

Sunday, June 23 – LEGO Art Show presented by BrickXSighting

Join us for an unforgettable experience at the LEGO Art Show presented by BrickXSighting!

Immerse yourself in a world of creativity and innovation as we showcase stunning Lego artwork at Art 634. From June 23rd through July 7th, witness the captivating fusion of art and bricks in this unique exhibition. LEGO artists are members of TherapeuticLUG, a Lego User Group for Adults based out of Jackson, Michigan.

At the opening event on June 23rd, get ready for even more excitement with our Lego mosaic building event! Whether you're a Lego enthusiast or just looking for some creative fun, this event is for you.

  • Lego Mosaic Building Event: Participate in our interactive activity where you can build your own custom Lego mosaic. It's free to join, or you can make a donation if you'd like to contribute.

About the Exhibition

Step into a realm where the human body becomes both muse and masterpiece. The Body Art Show transcends traditional boundaries, showcasing the intersection of creativity, anatomy, and self-expression. From intricate tattoos to mesmerizing body paint, each piece on display is a testament to the resilience and vulnerability of our corporeal vessels.

Featured Artists and Their Works

1. Living Canvases: Renowned body painters have transformed the human body, and invite you to view their process throughout the day. Vote for your favorite design, with the winner being announced at 9pm.

2. Ink Stories: Tattoo artists share their narratives through ink. Explore a gallery of inked skin, where every line and curve tells a personal tale. From minimalist designs to elaborate sleeves, these tattoos celebrate individuality, memories, and life’s milestones.

3. Body Sculptures: Sculptors have taken inspiration from the human form itself. Their three-dimensional creations—crafted from materials like clay, wood, and metal—explore the contours, curves, and imperfections that make us uniquely human.

4. Photographic Portraits: Captured by talented photographers, these portraits reveal the raw beauty of body art. Close-ups of painted skin, intricate piercings, and scarifications evoke emotions and challenge societal norms.

Themes and Conversations

The Body Art Show delves into themes such as identity, transformation, and impermanence. Visitors are encouraged to engage in thought-provoking conversations about body positivity, cultural heritage, and the ever-changing nature of our physical selves.

Interactive Experiences

1. Live Body Painting: Watch artists create ephemeral masterpieces on willing participants. Witness the metamorphosis as bare skin becomes a canvas for vibrant pigments and intricate designs.

2. Live Tattooing: Guests can choose from a selection of tattoos to get completed on site, or observe the tattooing process live.

3. Living Gallery: Display your own piece of body art from 6 to 9pm and become part of the living gallery.

4. Anatomy and Art Workshops: Learn about the body’s systems, organs, and musculature. Understand how body art intersects with our inner workings. Maybe even complete your own bodycentric art project.

5. Life Drawing: Stop in for a life drawing class before the show closes on August 11 th . More details to be announced.

Saturday, August 3rd - Circus of Curiosities

Tickle your idiosyncratic side with Circus of Curiosities! Where the peculiar lurks around every corner, and fantasies come true. Get in touch with your curiosities and explore new ones at this oddly kinkcentric event!

On August 3rd at 7pm, the doors will open to a dark wonderland of excitement, with the unexpected beginning at 8pm. Circus of Curiosities contains explicit adult content and is intended for inquisitive minds, 21 years and older. Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door as space allows, and can be purchased at (https://square.link/u/Z1YeN6tX). All guests will be required to show a government issued I.D. at the door.

Are you interested in vending or performing at Circus of Curiosities? We are currently accepting vendors whose handcrafted items are outside the norm and curiously creative! From the oddly ornate to the bizarrely busked. You never know what you'll find at Circus of Curiosities!

Saturday, August 3rd - Unveiled: An Unapologetically Erotic Art Show

Unveiled is a one day erotic art show that will be on display during the Circus of Curiosities event being held at Art 634 on Saturday, August 3rd beginning at 7pm.

Are you an artist interested in participating in Unveiled?
This show is for artists whose work is unapologetically erotic.

Sunday, August 18 - The Recycle Show

The Recycle Show is an annual celebration of sustainability and creativity. All featured artworks are Mixed-Media and crafted from 80% recycled materials. Sculptures and 3-D art are warmly welcomed! Join us in celebrating ingenuity, sustainability, and the beauty of art created from reclaimed materials!

Mark your calendars for the annual Recycle Show on August 18th from 5 to 8pm! The show is free and open to the public and is accompanied by live music and light refreshments.

If you’re an artist passionate about repurposing and environmental consciousness, we invite you to participate!
- All art must be mixed-media and made from at least 80% reused/recycled materials. Sculptures and 3-D art welcome.
- Submission Deadline: Midnight on August 4th

Submissions will be juried, and accepted artists will be notified.

November 8th - 10th: GIG- The Art of Michigan Music 2024

Three day event celebrating concert photography, gig posters, album and t-shirt art created by Michigan artists with an exhibit, learning sessions, and a music market.

VIP Friday Opening - Meet the artists of the GIG exhibit, enjoy a catered dinner and drinks, and experience a special guest along with live music. 4p to 11p

Saturday Sessions - Attend sessions geared toward musicians, artists, and enthusiasts. Food trucks and drinks will be available. 1p to 5p

Saturday Night Live - A Michigan mixtape featuring some of the best bands in our state.
7p to 11p

Sunday Music Market - Visit vendors, artists, and bands offering records, posters, art work, t-shirts, musical instruments and more. 12 noon to 5p

Art exhibit will be up all three days and available for purchase.

Lucky you! You’ve been invited to the Dunn Speakeasy for the wedding of the year! In this “married to the mob” event, you’ll never know who to trust. With the two families merging together, someone is bound to lose power, which means someone else will lose their life! Can you solve this case with your fellow detectives?

Dress like the cat’s meow for this mafia wedding! Flapper dresses, zoot suits, feather boas and headbands, pinstriped suits and fedoras are all appropriate. Traditional wedding attire is nifty too!
