Every Wednesday - Open Art
Join us every Wednesday at ART 634 in Jackson, Michigan for Open Art – a day-long open art session running from noon to 7 PM! Whether you're an experienced artist or just getting started, this is your chance to work on your own art project in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Be inspired by fellow artists, get advice, and network with other creatives and artisans.
From 4 to 7 PM, talented artist annie! Wade will be hosting an open sewing room on the second floor. Participants of all ages are welcome to bring their materials and equipment, and she will work with you one-on-one to help you complete your project. She’ll also provide guidance on selecting the right tools and materials and how to use them.
Come for a day of creativity, community, and learning!
Friday, June 6 - The Recycle Show
Calling all creative minds and eco-conscious artists! Join us for the opening of The Recycle Art Show on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 6-9 pm. This unique exhibition showcases innovative, mixed-media artwork made with at least 80% recycled materials. This is your opportunity to transform everyday waste into extraordinary masterpieces and inspire others to think differently about reuse and sustainability.
Unleash your creativity and make a statement at The Recycle Art Show—where trash becomes treasure and art meets environmental consciousness.
Please note: While we encourage the use of a variety of recycled materials, old paint and reused canvases do not qualify as recycled material for this event. We challenge you to explore other mediums and materials that might otherwise end up in a landfill.

Thursday, June 19 - Third Thursday Open Mic Night!
Share what you’ve been working on at Art 634!
Stand Up, Music, Poetry, Storytelling, Theater, or whatever the creative spirit brings.
Open Mic is in The Gallery on the third Thursday of each month. Sign-ups will begin at 7:00 pm, and the mic will open at 7:30 pm and go until the time feels right.
Coffee, tea, cocoa, and water is available, but feel free to bring your own food and drink of choice. Also remember to bring a friend or two!

Enhance your style – your way! Join local creatives at Art 634 on the last Sunday of each month, from 1 to 3 PM, for a fun and hands-on workshop. This month’s session will focus on jewelry making. Participants will learn techniques turning found objects into fashionable jewelry.

Thursday, July 10th - Art with Ari
Art with Ari is a creative experience held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at Art 634. Starting at 6 pm, this event invites participants of all skill levels to explore their artistic side in a fun and relaxed environment. Each session includes a mini lesson at the beginning, followed by a small project designed to spark creativity. The event typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the project. A suggested materials donation of $5-$10 helps cover supplies, allowing everyone to participate in the creative journey. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, Art with Ari offers a welcoming space to unleash your inner artist.
Friday, July 11 - Facing Reality: An Exploration of All Facets of “Face"
As part of The Power of Words: A Transformative Art Series, this group exhibition explores the multifaceted meanings of the word “Face." From literal human features to metaphorical concepts like facing challenges or societal expectations, artists offer diverse interpretations of “face" in its emotional, cultural, and architectural dimensions.
Through various mediums, the show highlights the courage in confronting adversity, the masks we wear for social reputation, and the transformative power of facing one's emotions and truths.

Saturday, July 19th - Celebrating the Life of Dee McBee Jr.
A beautiful and vibrant light was taken from our world far too soon on March 25th, 2025. Dee Wayne McBee Jr. had a deep love for art. He was proud of his artistic creations, always willing to paint anyone and anything. His artwork had a deeper meaning, as Dee was always on a journey for depth and passion in this world.
At Dee's request, his family will hold a celebration of Dee's life at Art 634, a place that served as his second home for almost half his life. Please save the date of July 19th, 2025 and join us in your finest tie-dyed attire from 12p to 5p to honor his legacy. In addition to wearing tie-dye, please feel free to bring a piece of cloth or thread to add to a community weaving project taking place during the event thanks to Justine Melville. Cloth/thread will also be available on-site.
At the celebration of life, Dee's family will showcase and will be selling Dee's artwork. All proceeds will be donated to Segue Inc. to fund the art program that brought him immense joy during his final year. Dee helped individuals express their trauma through art, and motivated them to live their best life. We are committed to preserving his program and supporting those he helped. In his honor, a bench will be placed at each of his two favorite locations, Art 634 and Segue Inc. More info can be found on Facebook.

Saturday, August 2 - Circus of Curiosities
Tickle your idiosyncratic side with Circus of Curiosities! Where the peculiar lurks around every corner, and fantasies come true. Get in touch with your curiosities and explore new ones at this oddly kinkcentric event!
On August 2nd at 7pm, the doors will open to a costume-party like no other. This year's theme, Dali's Dinner Party, assures a three-course meal with a dreamlike blend of opulence and absurdity. Salvador Dalí's dinner parties were extravagant, surreal spectacles where unexpected surprises turned every meal into a theatrical experience. Dali's perverse ways and over the top themes make him the perfect inspiration for this year's Circus!

Unveiled is a one day erotic art show that will be on display during the Circus of Curiosities event being held at Art 634 on Saturday, August 2nd beginning at 7pm. This is a 21+ event. This awesome exhibition showcases the amazing works of senior artists, celebrating their ongoing contributions to the art community. With their unique perspectives and experienced hands, these artists bring a special touch that deepens our appreciation of art and life.
Artwork by artists over the age of 60 will be on display in the Art 634 galleries, highlighting their talent and their continued dedication to inspiring and uplifting others. Elders in Art is a testament to the timeless nature of artistic expression and its lasting impact for generations to come.
