Every Wednesday - Open Art
Join us every Wednesday at ART 634 in Jackson, Michigan for Open Art – a day-long open art session running from 4PM to 7 PM! Whether you're an experienced artist or just getting started, this is your chance to work on your own art project in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Be inspired by fellow artists, get advice, and network with other creatives and artisans.
annie! will be hosting an open sewing room as well! Participants of all ages are welcome to bring their materials and equipment, and she will work with you one-on-one to help you complete your project. She’ll also provide guidance on selecting the right tools and materials and how to use them.
Thursday, September 11th - Second Thursday Writing Group
Join us every second Thursday of the month at Art 634 for a welcoming gathering of writers. Whether you're penning poetry, journaling your thoughts, drafting your first novel, or just passionate about starting somewhere, this group is for you.
We celebrate all forms of writing and all levels of experience. No pressure, no judgment - just open minds, shared stories, and space to grow.
Join at 7pm in The Palmer Gallery (main room on first floor). Stay there with the group or find a quiet corner to cozy up in. Coffee, tea and water provided. Feel free to bring your own drink of choice.

Open Mic is in The Michael Palmer Gallery on the third Thursday of each month. Sign-ups will begin at 7:00p, and the mic will open at 7:30p and go until the time feels right.
Coffee, tea, cocoa, and water is available, but feel free to bring your own food and drink of choice. Also remember to bring a friend or two!
Sunday, September 28 - Creative Aspirations Workshop (C.A.W.): “Open Workshop”
Creative Aspirations Workshop (C.A.W.), hosted by local artists Will and Sapphire, offers beginner-friendly classes teaching sustainable and easy ways to create art through the process of upcycling and reusing common objects. Every other month, They host a FREE open creative workshop, where attendees are encouraged to bring materials for upcycling. It’s a fun, supportive environment to work on your own projects or revisit past workshop creations. Whether you're crafting solo or collaborating, you're sure to have a great time and make new friends! The open workshop runs from 1-3 pm at Art 634 and is intended for ages 18+.
Saturday, October 4 - Dark Art Show
Step into the shadows of Art 634’s annual Dark Art Show, where the lurid reigns and creativity thrives. This captivating show delves into the mysterious, the macabre, and the provocative, showcasing artwork that challenges the boundaries of the eerie and the enigmatic.
Join us October 4 from 6-9 pm for the opening reception, where guests are encouraged to embrace the darkness with gothic attire. As you wander through the dimly lit gallery, you'll encounter haunting visions, twisted forms, and unsettling beauty that will linger in your mind long after you leave.

Interested in submitting work for Art 634’s annual The Dark Art Show? Send us an email to art634jackson@gmail.com by midnight on Sept. 14 2025. Please include pictures of the work, size of the piece, and the medium. There is no limit to the number of pieces entered. The art selection committee will review each submission and notify artists by email. Selected art must be dropped off on September 28, 4-6p.

Sunday, October 19th through Saturday, October 25th - Jackson Fashion Week
Jackson Fashion Week makes its debut this Fall with a weeklong celebration of fashion in all its forms—welcoming makers, movers, and style lovers from across the region. From October 19th through 25th, fashion-focused events will pop up throughout the county, leading to a vibrant finale: the Jackson Fashion Show at Art 634 on Saturday, October 25th.
Expect a mix of runway showcases, hands-on workshops, pop-up shops, and creative gatherings that highlight the diverse ways our community expresses itself through fashion. Whether it’s handcrafted jewelry, upcycled streetwear, or bold artistic statements, this week is about celebrating local talent and personal style. Saturday October 25th - Jackson Fashion Show
Join us on Saturday, October 25th for the culmination of Jackson Fashion Week with an unforgettable celebration of fashion in all of its expressive forms! From handcrafted jewelry and sculptural shoes to wearable art, avant-garde accessories, and bespoke bags that make bold statements, this event may even help you define your own signature style.
There will be two fashion shows, one at 5:30p and the other beginning at 7:30pm. This event will also feature:
- Vending by visionary designers and artists
- Jewelry that sparkles with intention
- Footwear built for both runways and revolutions
- Bags that tell stories and turn heads
- Couture, eco-fashion, and experimental apparel
- Live music, luxe refreshments, and fashion-focused fun
Whether you arrive draped in vintage velvet, architectural denim, or your boldest accessories, make sure to dress to express! Come ready to explore, indulge, and celebrate the art of fashion.
The Jackson Fashion Show is free and open to the public. Your attendance and any voluntary shopping helps to empower our local designers and artists, and helps to strengthen the short-term successes of the Greater Jackson art community, leading to its longevity as a valued community resource.

Join us for The Essence of Grace: A Multifaceted Exhibition, the third and final show in The Power of Words series, exploring the profound meanings of “Grace." This exhibition brings together diverse artistic interpretations, examining grace in its physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural forms. From elegant movement and nature’s harmony to themes of compassion, forgiveness, and resilience, the works invite introspection on the transformative power of grace in our lives.
The opening reception is Saturday, November 8th, from 6-9 pm at Art 634. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the many dimensions of grace through art.

Repurpose for winter season. Join us at Art 634 on the last Sunday of each month, from 1 to 3 PM, for a fun and hands-on workshop. This month’s session will focus on, Warm Wear from Old Wear. Participants will be transforming worn or used clothing and repurposing them into cold weather pieces. Basic sewing techniques will be covered.
